Review on Bertandang

Hokay. Im late again updating my reviews. Haha. No excuse this time. So Bertandang reviews... not much photos to update with, and nothing much actually. Everything is arranged my MIL. Except our baju.

Will start on baju first okay, both outfits are from Uday. He's very efficient and according to memet my godbrother he is quite famous in Bandung. Uday offers packages that suits your budget, we took the cheapest, which was IDR 3,000,000/ RM1k. For both bride and groom. Except for my inner white dress, that was made by a tailor in Melaka, workmanship RM150 =) hihi

His workmanship is superb! the material provided was magnificent. however, i was a bit disappointed with myself, during the fitting we were actually from Jakarta so we were all exhausted. When we came to Uday's place and saw this beautiful dress me aunty ritta and Ikmal, we were too excited that nobody reminded me to wear my corset first.

i totally forgot, it really slipped my mind. so it was horrible. when we came back and my inner white dress is ready, the outer dress is kinda loose. it doesnt fit me well. Being me, minah cincai... i thought i should just go through with the wedding tapi mom insisted on finding a tailor that could fix it.

So i went to Nik Erwan. Thank God that he's available to help me, but since the dress is very fragile and the beading is overwhelming all he did was just sew a bit part of the back around my waist to make it smaller. Not much but it looks better. Oklah... the show must go on kan!

So that's about it on the dress.

for the shoes, it was really a last minute white wedges with one white strap and another transparent strap, sorry no picture, it's super plain simple. no blings, nothing. i think it was about RM35? tak silap. from Vincci.

what else...

owh the veil. my mom's friend help made it. it's a white silk chiffon cut into u shape and jahit tepi. siap. again no bling. super simple. i didn't wear any earrings, bracelet or necklace. except my watch and rings lah.

I know Aunty Ritta will not be around to persistently ask me to wear jewelry so haha i made full use of that advantage.

There's not much decor i think. lupa. no pelamin. no kompang. very simple. event starts at 12pm we came at 12.30pm we sit and eat then we mingle. hihi...

the only thing my parents in law splurge on was the food. It was Adnor Catering, the food was awesome! two thumbs and toes up! I'll ask Ikmal for the caterer's number and post it up on the next update eh?

Here's more photos of us and friends..

me and Sheda

us with some of his colleague

his friends

his younger brother Ikhwan and wife Yana and Putri

Ara's twin, Awin staring at me... hahahaha

me and my beloved Cica... aahhh... miss her so damn much!

Look at these two naughty kids... that's our bilik pengatin... his mom did the deco.

Cica siap curik this. buat souvenir she said. kuangkuang

Yeayyy... Siap! Pheww... next update... HONEYMOON!!!

p/s: a sedara of mine also hires Adnor for their wedding, masa bertandang tu baru tau. haha. distinctive betul rasa dia.

p/s/s: sorry if u think this update a bit Cincai, though i always post cincai update but i think this is worst. i'm sleepy. this is a scheduled entry. hehe. ok bye.

Je suis désolé

Wow. This is humiliating. Though i know probably nobody expected me to hold on to my words about updating reviews on my wedding, but i feel guilty. So again Je suis tellement désolé. I've been occupied with work; i mean my husband's work. He sort of hires me to help with his work at the office.

I’m really am very sorry yeah?

So anyway, this will be the last update on wedding ceremony on my side. The next update will be on ceremony on his side.

I already posted information on the caterer we hired but i think i should probably put it up again.

It’s dzan event & catering. Contact person Raizan 0167034411. Review available here

I think there's not much left… first, my wedding kebaya and ikmal's suit.

It’s from Neng Lina Kebaya She's located at Pasar Baru Bandung. The total cost for both outfits is less than RM 800 that comprises materials, workmanship, beadings and they gave us gratis matching shoes, ikmal's matching songkok (beaded) and ikmal's other accessories like belt etc yang also ikmal tak mahu pakai. Jelong katanya!

However, since the dress is too long, you cannot see my shoes and Ikmal didn't want to wears his because ada beading kat kasut tu. To me, the dress was surprisingly fit nicely and turns out okay. And the shoes, though not my usual 4-5 inches heels, but seems comfortable and lovely. Except that the inner corset provided was a bit disappointing, it was too tight around the chest. It didn't compliment my huge breast, instead it flattens them.

As for their service, to me a bit off. They promise the dress would be ready before our next trip for fitting but to our surprise it was not. And the dress turns out different from the initial design we requested. VERY VERY DISSATISFYING… partially it was my fault as I totally forgot to snap pictures of the initial design. Sad. But Alhamdulillah the dress turns out OK. Not great but things happen so hamba redha. Hihi

So girls, all the wrong things can happen but don’t let them bother you. Just bear in mind, you got the most wonderful husband to spend the rest of your life with… and at the end of the day, that is the only thing matters. Kan?

Anyway, my four albums are ready. But I still owe Fadza our OP, external hard disk for our soft copies. Haih. We brought the album to ikmal’s parents’ house and since it was wee bit heavy, we left it there. Probably this weekend will go get it back.

This are the two 12x18 Photo with frame before

And after.

Ami Royani, Atin and Alin!!! Kenal tak yang tengah tu??? Haha

So here are photos taken by our unofficial photographer Ardini my sister!

these are photos from Atin Bah Ku Ten huahahaha

yeehuuuu... habis dah i think my reviews. If ada terlepas pandang please let me know and i update. so next up bertandang! and honeymoon... Christchurch, Queenstown and Auckland!

till then... bonne matinée!!!

p/s: The dress turns out better in Fadza’s pictures… almost all of them. Pelik tapi benar. Or maybe it’s just my imagination. Haha.

Hey u guys I'm so sorry. Husband kidnapped me to work yesterday. And today my parents are here and dad is using my high speed unifi for youtubing. Sigh.

So I'm updating to apologize to any of u who anticipates on an update.

Here is information on our caterer, it's dzan event & catering. Contact person Raizan 0167034411

Attended a simple nikah ceremony of Lina and Zakwan last night. I think guests about 100 ppl. They hired all the same vendor like her brother's wedding last year. OP Daniel Zain. Can't wait for their reception tomorrow...

P/s: it looks like I will still be reviewing on my wedding lg next week.

Aaahhh.... another day... up really early today, 3am. *Husband a Arsenal fan* me? I’m not a football fan. Ngeeeeee...

Thank u for being patient reading my boring updates on the wedding; please bear with me for another few days... i really hope i can finish everything by Friday. *Amin*

So, second reception... same caterer as the previous night. *gosh i forgot to ask my mother the name and contact details of the caterer.* I’ll update this post once i get it. Anyway, the caterer is from Batu Pahat. Mom didn't survey on any other caterer, this caterer was recommended by a relatives who use to be a hotel chef. So mom sort of follows her instinct on them.

Doing a wedding ceremony outside of Klang Valley i think is very difficult. It’s easy if u r not fussy about the outcome. Most caterers in Melaka, their presentation of the food is bad. And if you ever found that is good with presentation, the foods pulak not so good. Then, if you ever found one that is perfect, they are not so enthusiastic about traveling outside of town.

Since I’m living in Alor Gajah *yg only ada KFC kt town* to have a wedding yang up to our liking with local vendors is VERY, VERY difficult. Tak kira lah caterer, pelamin, bla2. We are really lucky to have local talent like Kak Salima *Dia orang Alor Gajah* hihihi...

Anyway, tents are all provided by the caterer, Alhamdullillah tents provided are adequate, simple and clean white ;) and buffet tables are well decorated. Simple yet tasteful. We seriously overlooked the food presentation part, mama main belasah je. Few days before the wedding when they came to set up everything baru we were like wow... nasib baik gila, we totally forget to ask apa rupa buffet table diorang. haha

Pricewise, I think not bad lah. RM8 per head for Nasi Briyani gam lazat with dessert yang sedap *according to guest* tapi that price was for 3thousand people. i think if our order is less they’ll have to consider about travelling from Batu Pahat to Melaka. Haha. They started cooking the Nasi Briyani the night before, during our first reception. We are again lucky to have ample of space within our house compound for them to build few more tents for them to cook.

Notice the blue tent? That’s where they prepare the food. Since the space there is occupied by the caterer, we had to divide tents into two sides, some within the house compound and the rest outside the gates. Since our house is located at the end of the road, the tents did not obstruct traffic.

I think we had about a total of 20 tents. More than enough.

The only thing we kinda disappointed with our caterer was their service during the first reception. The main table was empty, no food no plates no drinks no everything, plus they weren't well prepared when people start gushing at the food stalls. Guests had to endure the excessive smoke coming from BBQ area while queuing for food; gosh… it was very disappointing. Fortunately their food is awesome, so it was not all bad ;) Most guests love their fried kueh tiaw. Very nice! Plus they did make it up to us, for the second reception they gave free 3-tier cake and additional dessert, fruit tart for the guest and more discount.

Okay. i think that's all for today. i hate posts that are long with words... and im not even good with words. hehe

p/s: i really cant wait to start writing about other than my wedding ;)

My favorite dress

Morning everybody =) yesterday i receive a lot of emails about the 1st reception dress. So i think i should write an entry about it.

The dress is custom made by Micky Tan She is very talented, friendly and helpful. You can go to her web address, or add her up in Facebook.

The workmanship is marvellous and as you can see in most pictures, the dress flows gorgeously... Her charges are very reasonable. To me SANGAT BERBALOI!!! I bought the material in Bandung and the 3tone chiffon and lining with Micky at Jalan TAR, I think total for the kain would be around RM80-RM120 terlupa lah... tapi not expensive lah.

Itu pon while I’m at Bandung, I kept calling Micky, "hey what do u think if i buy this material", then i can her again, "how about this pulak?" then i call her again, "i think i should buy this type of material lah eh?"

So, she is very patient in handling a very annoying client like me. She is a wonderful person and i even bake red velvet... hehehehe

This is during the first fitting,

I dont have any picture for second fitting as ikmal ws busy entertaining everyone who followed us during the fitting. There's Aunty Ritta, Amiza, Anisah, Aunty Ritta's 2 children Ishmel and Iris. It was chaotic. Hahaha

So that is all, tomorrow i'll update about the second reception.

p/s: remember the recent Anugerah Seri Angkasa? Aunty Ritta got us VIP tixs and I thought of going with this dress but my other sisters dont wanna go =(

Parents, Siblings and the people you love.

I think i once mention about not wanting to be a bridezilla ever? Alhamudillah... I was true to my words. A LOT of things went wrong during the wedding day, yet i manage to keep my cool.

Remember friends, positive is always better than negative!!! no good will come from screaming and complaining about anything! To me, the most important are the persons in ur life not things... and in the case of your wedding day... ur family and husband comes first, the rest... second...

As promised, here's some photos of the 1st wedding reception which were held within the compound of my house in alor gajah...

most guests adore the lights installed by abah, some says macam pokok christmas, others claim macam I-city. Haha

Okay. We’ll start from the beginning aye?

Nikah 10am, finish around noon. Nap then Make up and hair from 6-8pm

Kak Salima and My lil sister Dini curling up my hair

Us getting ready

In the picture, my postcard invites by Amiza Nur rings from diamond and platinum. my dress from Micky Tan. shoes from studio isetan, and my helmet, haha from maju junction? apa nama kedai lupa. Email me at for the prices ;)

ok. we are going out now...

last orders before we go!

Then we walked out of the house, passing through the guest and then the main table. Then Doa, then Makan… afterwards band start performing songs. While people started eating, us at the main table still waiting for our food, caterer didn’t assign people to serve us. We waited patiently, then my sister Atiza and Amiza came to serve us using our own plates and drinking glasses, VERY disappointed with the caterer service on the first reception.

We kinda lost our appetite and decided to get off our chair and start going around saying hello to guest but were stopped by Auntty Ritta. She said not yet. So we stayed but we were so restless, both of us kept discussing whether or not we should defy Aunty Ritta’s orders.

After a while we decided to just go… as encouraged by his parents and my grandaunt. So sometimes, on your wedding day, things like this will happen. Follow your instinct!

We get to say hello to few tables when MC announce speech by my parents

During nikah my mom refuse to read that lafaz thingy yang most of time people will cry like crazy after nikah. So I know her speech will a be a short and simple one. As for my dad… WOW! I was impressed… my dad is really good at giving inspirational speech. It was something like this:

“I believe that I am the product of my parents, the good and the bad all moulded by my parents, and our children are the product from us. We believe that Azara is good to go and we gave a lifetime warranty to back that up. If our son-in-law ikmal ever felt there’s anything wrong with her, don’t throw her out; instead bring her back to us so we can fix her… we nurtured her with all the kindness and tolerance hence we guarantee full satisfaction.”

I LOL throughout the speech, actually panjang lagi… but I can’t remember all. Once I got my wedd video I'll post it. But seriously, the best speech I ever heard!

It’s true that we are the reflection of our parents, though my dad married my stepmother, he is always just and I never once hear my mother complain about it. My mother and my stepmother are friends, and I never ever considered my stepmother’s children as stepsisters. They are my sisters.

My mother is the most positive, proactive person I ever encountered, whenever she discover a good read she’ll definitely passed it to us. She always advise us to not think bad of another person, to not hold grudge etc, if u add her up on FB you’ll discover her wall is full of motivation quotes from various sources, never a hate post!

my parents, my family made me who I am today.

Then an unsangkarable thing happen, it was my siblings turn for their speech

You can see at the top pic, everyone seem content but the opposite in the 2nd and 3rd pic, well I blame my lil bro Amar. He was the first for the speech and he said something like this “She is my big sister, though most of the time annoying… i consider her the closest to me among our siblings.” Anything that comes out from his mouth though consist only a pinch of sweetness can make me sob like a little girl! It’s something difficult for him to admit but he acknowledge it in front a lot of people. To me, that’s deep…

So when my sisters saw my tears, everybody started shaking and sobbing while giving out each other’s speech… *wipe tears* it was very emotional… Afterwards, my best friend since tadika gave her speech… unfortunately no pic.

Its then our turn pulak… ikmal thanked everybody at the same time my crying mode still on, and see what happen…

I never imagine I would be that emotional, it was overwhelming!

After the speech we perform our I do song, received standing ovation, then MC gave a closing speech!

Your family, like it or not, they are your support system. You can have two best friends or maybe ten. to me, each and every person in my family is my BFFs!

remember i once mention about our marriage, their wedding Luckily i have a family of good taste, so no worries there!

Thanks a bunch also to the my sister Amiza's friends, Afie, Najlaa, Faz... for helping out.

and my cousin yoyoi!!!! and Ayan!!!

and of cource!!!! MY SIBLINGS... 1 handsome brother and 5 VERY BEAUTIFUL sisters... I'm blessed!!!

p/s: ayan is a VERY talented baker... go check her out for your wedding cakes, hantaran etc!!! =D

I'm still here

I've forsaken my blog for my husband. I use to wonder why most bride- to-be blogger vanish after they got married, well... wonder no more! I’m one of them!

It’s been two month now… and we still get:

You see this question? It’s killing me…

Let me be straightforward, my life before and after marriage is about the same... HONEST!

Though there is one thing I kinda fond about after marriage life, the relationship is HALAL. I can date him whenever, wherever!!! Siapa nak tangkap?? huahahhaha

So that's a MAJOR advantage to me, as Ikmal always says, we come in a package… Buy one FREE one! Hahaha… which explains my absence, he sometimes brings me to work. Like these few days, I spent a lot of time with him in his office helping out with pending tasks which left by his irresponsible ex-staffs. Huh! He is down to 2 workers, and they are most of time on leave. I had to step in, or he’ll be home late.

So, in order to not let this blog be estranged, i think i need your help. Please spend some time to place your vote on the poll i put at the sidebar on ur right. Thank u so much!

I am also hoping that I can gather some strength to revive Owl Sisters pheww… My internship will be somewhere in August till October, so in the mean time I need things to do to kill time.

I will still finish up my review within the next week, the sooner the better! As I don’t want to be conceited, or seems to be like one. I’m over being a bride, I’m now a wife! But I do not have any intention of changing this blog to a personal blog and talks about pregnancy and such. Hence the poll to let you decide!

I know I have genuine readers out there who read my blog, THANK YOU! Me like you!

p/s: notice anything different on my blog?? hekhek
